Thank you to all that showed up to our practice. It is always appreciated. I did want to put a shout out to #14 FURUTA for being a soldier. He came to our practice then left to play with #2 BIG CHOCOLATE for another team. Thank you!
We started at 22:00 this time around instead of the usual midnight time slot. It was a great practice and I think we learned a lot. We tried to have an entire Ice Dragons team vs. the visitors but that didn't work out too well. We needed a few more. That being said, I could see where we needed work. 1. Communication. Big aspect of hockey. Unfortunately telling people to use their voices in a society where they aren't very vocal is quite challenging. Any ideas on how to improve it without telling people? Telling people doesn't seem to work. 2. Short passes. Everyone is trying to make the long/stretch pass which isn't working for our team. We've got to tighten our passes. We also have to start going into the zone together as a team. That being said, our skating has improved and our line changes are getting much better. I've got to conjure up some more breakout drills and something to help with communication. I'm always open to suggestions.
